Ask for help. If you feel overwhelmed and tired, which you will in the first couple of weeks of bringing a newborn home, ask for help. Anybody that is willing to visit, ask them to bring you some food, any relatives that can help, just come and watch the baby so you can sleep. That would be my number one advice is just to take advantage of your good relationships in the sense that you take what they give you, food, care for your child.
